Father's Day weekend

We headed to the St. Louis area for a quick trip this weekend. Jeff took Friday off of work and we spent the day at the City Museum. Fun!! Such a neat place!! The "funniest" part of the day was while we were scooting thru one of the outside tunnels, my phone fell out of my pocket! It fell two stories and is still working! Thankfully, it didn't fall ON anyone ... and Jeff was sweet enough to fetch it for me;) We camped down the road from my parents and were able to visit and camp at the same time! Other than the wicked storms that came thru each night, it was nice!

Trying to get rid of the training wheels...

Karissa is still working hard at riding her bike without the training wheels. We don't have a good spot for her to practice at the house, so if we're not camping we take her to a subdivision down the street. Sunday evening we went over there and she was doing pretty well. However, towards the end she was getting a little too confident and took a hill too fast. Jeff kept telling her to put on her brakes but by the time she did it was too late and over the handlebars she went! Thankfully she came away with only a few scratches on her chin. We were proud of her for wanting to get back up and try again =)

A Week of Firsts ...

My babies are growing up! Karissa had her very first piano lesson this week and Kyleigh started gymnastics! Kyleigh was SO very excited to get to go to her own class. She has been watching her sister for over a year and now it's finally HER turn! She has asked every day this week ... "is it time to go back to gymnastics?!" (Note: the picture quality is terrible ... this mama actually forgot her camera to BOTH events but used her dinosaur of a phone to take a couple of shots)

My baby is growing up!

We spent the weekend camping again! The weather was great (a little too hot but perfect for the pool). Kyleigh inherited her sister's swim "bubble" and has been doing great with it. So great, in fact, that we decided to take it off of her on Sunday before we left the campground ... and to our surprise... OFF she swam! What a little fish! (Now mama will have to learn, just to keep up!)

Memorial Day Weekend 2011

We spent the holiday weekend in Branson with friends and family. It was HOT but fun =) The girls even participated in a turtle race (their turtle was very lazy and had no intention of trying to win but Kyleigh didn't care!)
